Fun, Sustainability and Luxury on the Riviera Maya – A Review of Hotel Xcaret Mexico
With a mission statement such as “We created the All-Fun Inclusive™ concept to make the
world a happier place spreading our great love for Mexico”; guests can expect tons of
excitement, wonderful accommodations, restaurants and grounds, and they can appreciate that
Grupo Xcaret has developed their flagship hotel with sustainability in mind. Indeed, when one
enters the property, one is delighted by the green scenery, the river around which many
buildings were built (and which one may kayak on), the plants that were kept in place (or
displaced but replanted -I was informed that 80% of the trees that were relocated survived), and
the overall care given to the local fauna and flora.
Hotel Xcaret, a five diamond property, is a tribute to Mayan culture and to Mexico, its artisans,
its gastronomy, its living wealth and its cultural heritage.
While staying in one four areas named according to the four elements, Earth, Wind, Water and
Fire, guests can experience more than 200 adventure, cultural, entertainment and art
experiences. Fire (Fuego) is an exclusive and sophisticated adults-only experience. Note that all
guests get these incredible benefits: unlimited access and transportation to all the parks and
tours of Grupo Xcaret. These parks are Xcaret, Xel-Ha, Xplor, Xplor Fuego, Xavage, Xoximilco
and Xenses, as well as tours to Xenotes and Xichen. We will discover these tomorrow!
So back to Hotel Xcaret: with a height of just a few floors, and thus barely rising up to the tree
canopy, the hotel offers a great variety of accommodations while preserving your privacy. I took
several photos that show how you may face the jungle, the river, a pool, gardens; enjoy the
views!
Your all-inclusive experience will be more than just food and beverages. Hotel Xcaret includes a
Gastronomic Group formed by national and international celebrity chefs that will delight guests
with premium culinary experiences included in their reservation. Start with an amazing breakfast at Mercado de la
Merced, and imagine what other fantastic meals await! How about dinner inside natural caves
for a romantic atmosphere? You will want to make sure you stay long enough to try out each of
the 12 themed restaurants on the property! Okay… make sure you have time for repeats!
Visit Muluk Spa, an unusual quiet oasis, where one of the Mayan
calendar signs associated with water inspires and informs a most relaxing environment.
Grupo Xcaret opened Hotel Xcaret Mexico in 2017, and will open two new resorts soon:
– Hotel Xcaret Arte (planned for July 2021): this property will pay homage to Mexican
artists with a focus on weaving, pottery, painting, dance and vegan cuisine (for guests 16
years of age and up).
– Casa de la Playa (planned for December 2022): this property will be Grupo Xcaret first
adults-only boutique hotel and will offer 63 suites facing the Caribbean Sea!
